Stirling Dynamics Announces New Agreement with Lockheed Martin

Written by Stirling Dynamics | 20 July 2022

Stirling Dynamics has agreed on a new long-term supplier agreement with Lockheed Martin (Rotary Missions and Systems) to supply the F-35 stick and throttle cockpit sets for their Full Mission Simulators until the end of 2025. The agreement, valued at approximately $14M, underpins Stirling Dynamics’ cockpit controls business and strengthens the company’s position at the forefront of active control technology.

Stirling Dynamics has been closely engaged with the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Programme for many years, and in 2005 Stirling Dynamics was selected by Lockheed Martin as a sole source contractor to design and manufacture the active side sticks and throttles for the F-35 pilot training simulators.

Remarking on this new pricing agreement, Stirling’s Cockpit Controls Business Manager, Jonathan Boon, said: “We are delighted to continue our valued relationship with Lockheed Martin. We are immensely proud that our technology continues to contribute to the immersive environment of the Full Mission Simulator, offering pilots a safe and cost-effective training platform. Our active simulator controls are feature-rich and “like-for-like” in terms of realism and fidelity. We are unmatched in both the experience and skill in developing active control cockpit sets that are highly effective in training pilots to take control of real aircraft. We look forward to continuing our work with Lockheed Martin on this exciting, state-of-the-art programme.”

Production is scheduled to commence immediately with the first sets scheduled for delivery before year-end.
