Stirling will be exhibiting at UDT 2016, which is taking place in Oslo, Norway, from 1st-3rd June. UDT is the underwater defence and security community’s most relevant exhibition and conference. It brings together professionals from the military, industry and academia to focus on the cutting edge technologies and developments within one of the harshest environments known to man.
Whilst exhibiting at the event, Stirling will be showcasing our latest capabilities and technologies, which includes our Full Authority Submarine Control (FASC) prototype that provides a vision of how future submarine platforms will be controlled. This real-time demonstrator system combines Stirling’s proven active control technology with the company’s expertise in submarine steering, diving and hover control systems – the result being a platform designed to anticipate the requirements of future submarines. Stirling event staff will be on-hand at the show to provide live demonstrations of the FASC concept and discuss submarine control systems and services at stand #A4 at UDT in the main hall (Hall B). Stirling will also be showcasing our unique engineering capability within the submarine and UUV sector, which includes safety-critical control software and sophisticated modelling and simulation design and analysis services.
In addition to exhibiting at UDT, Stirling Dynamics’ Senior Engineer, Dr Nathan Thomas, will be presenting a technical paper on the 2nd June in Theatre One at 16.00pm. The paper entitled “Further Developments in Full Authority Submarine Control” will discuss the advances that have been made with the Full Authority Submarine Control (FASC) concept. The presentation will cover the latest improvements in both the concept and the control algorithms.
