Stirling’s extensive expertise in aircraft systems design and integration has allowed us to develop our flight control actuator design capability for fixed wing and rotary platforms. Our solutions can accommodate any aircraft system architecture and are compliant with the appropriate EASA, FAA or military standards.
In addition to actuators, our engineering capabilities have been applied in the design of other complex hydraulic devices.
Our engineering capabilities to realise these designs include: design and analysis; modelling (from concept through to detailed output); production of drawing packs for components, sub-assemblies and general assembly; static fatigue analysis; vibration analysis; performance modelling and analysis; safety analysis; reliability, availability & maintainability; qualification and test planning.
Tail Rotor Actuator Design
In support of the Korean Light Utility Helicopter (KLUH) programme, our client, Hanwha Corporation, was faced with the challenge of designing and developing an innovative hydro-mechanical primary flight control actuator that, in addition to providing the design, also transferred knowledge to the client.
