Who you will be working with

Leigh Henson
Systems and Safety, Technical Manager
The Systems & Safety team consists of systems engineers and systems safety engineers with a wide variety of experience in the aerospace (civil and military) and marine (defence) industries. The team’s expertise covers the full design lifecycle, and our skills are used to support our customers’, and our own, product developments from concept, through qualification and certification and into service. We work at all levels (from platform/vehicle to system to equipment) and are experienced in R&D, new product development as well as modifications to existing vehicles, systems and equipment.

Steven Griffin-Santos CEng MIET
Software and Electronics, Technical Manager
The Software & Electronics Engineering team excels in creating safety-critical electronics & embedded software for aerospace applications. We design and develop airborne electronics and software, ensuring they meet certification standards i.e., D0178C, D0-254 and D0-160.
Our multidisciplinary team includes engineering specialists in Electronic hardware systems and design, embedded software & verification, Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) design & verification, and Circuit Board Assembly (CBA) requirements verification.

Christopher Bridge
Control and Simulation, Technical Manager
The Control and Simulation team are comprised of a talented group of modelling and control specialists who work across our business areas. Utilising skills in a varied set of simulation tools, we support the design and analysis activities from vehicle level simulation down to equipment level modelling and develop control software deployed to aerospace and marine platforms and our simulation products. We work with some of the world’s largest companies in aerospace, marine, defence, as well as emerging companies developing the latest technologies.

Olivier De Meerschman
Mechanical Design, Technical Manager
The Mechanical Design team delivers end-to-end solutions for complex, performance-critical systems. From conceptual architecture and detailed 3D design through prototyping, verification and transfer to production, the team specialises in creating robust, manufacturable mechanical designs that meet demanding requirements.
Our approach combines rigorous systems thinking with hands-on engineering: model-based design and multi-body/finite-element analysis inform fast iteration; reverse engineering, DFx and DFMEA reduce downstream risk; and early supplier and manufacturing engagement ensures cost-effective and producible designs.

Will Maybury
Structural & Fluid Dynamics, Technical Manager
The Structural and Fluid Dynamics team delivers expert analysis in loads, aeroelastics, and aerodynamics to support safe and certifiable aircraft design. From concept to certification, we apply specialist knowledge in manoeuvre loads, gust response, flutter, and ground load interactions. Using tools like ANSYS, NASTRAN, and Simscape, along with in-house models, Stirling Dynamics supports a wide range of platforms including airliners, jets, helicopters, and eVTOLs. Our core capabilities are enhanced by services such as thermal modelling, bird strike evaluation, and icing analysis, ensuring compliance and confidence in design reviews.
"Stirling Dynamics is definitely one of the highest quality engineering companies we have experienced in the field of aerospace and military development."
"Stirling Dynamics provided their considerable experience to our loads group for two of our new aircraft projects. In both projects, they performed a highly-valued service and were very responsive to our needs."
"The Stirling team was extremely diligent during the project and solved various challenges in the supply chain caused by the Covid pandemic. "
"Stirling reacted to our urgent requirement and provided a great service with good communication throughout."
"When we send work to Stirling, we are always confident that it is in the very best of hands – they continue to exceed our most demanding expectations."
