Sustainable Life Vest Pouch
Reusing decommissioned Life Vests to contribute to your corporate sustainability goals
Life vests in commercial aircraft have a maximum lifespan of 10 years. While the durable nylon material coated with polyurethane can withstand longer periods, vest accessories may degrade over time.
This means that the fabric can be upcycled and converted into “new” cabin products like life vest pouches. This aligns with the concept of the circular economy or the cradle-to-cradle approach.
Stirling Dynamics’ approach is to re-engineer and approving customer’s existing pouch design by using the fabric of expired life vests. The production of the pouches will be carried out by our experienced and certified partner for upcycled cabin interior materials, Bag2Life. The Sustainable Life Vests Pouches will be delivered with a Service Bulletin and an EASA Form 1.
